Getting started on your first grow or ever after having a few under your belt things can be confusing and the information and individual styles can be overwhelming. This guide will help simplify the process and help you develop goals so your not wondering. I can't say it will work 100% because all plants are different and people interpret things their own way but it will absolutely help you build a foundation to start from rather then just trying what others say in the moment.
Remember growing is a challenge for us all at times because things don't always workout the way we planned but learn from your mistakes and try again. Don't forget you have support in this community, we're available on Facebook, YouTube and on this website. When it gets frustrating smoke a joint, mellow out and try it from a new perspective.
Step 1: Picking Your Seeds
The first step in growing cannabis is picking the right seeds. Autoflowering and photoperiods are the two kinds of cannabis we grow. Consider growing autoflowers to start as the are faster and you have a little less to worry about. Look for a reputable seed bank that offers a wide variety of strains, and choose seeds that are known to thrive indoors. There are several popular indoor strains, such as Blue Dream, Girl Scout Cookies, and Northern Lights.
Step 2: Set Up Your Grow Space
The next step is to set up your grow space once you have your seeds. You will need a dedicated space that is enclosed and can be kept dark during the flowering stage, consider auto flowering cannabis to . Consider setting up a grow tent or converting a closet into a grow room. You will also need to install a grow light, ventilation system, and a way to control the temperature and humidity.

Step 3: Choose Your Organic Nutrients
Organic nutrients are essential for healthy cannabis plants. Look for a high-quality organic nutrient line that includes a base nutrient, as well as supplements such as bloom boosters and microbial additives. Some popular organic nutrient brands include Gaia Green, General Organics, and FoxFarm.
Step 4: Germinate Your Seeds
Once your grow space is set up and your organic nutrients are on hand, it's time to germinate your seeds. Place your seeds in a cup of water for 24-48 hours, then transfer them to a damp paper towel. After a few days, your seeds should start to sprout, and it's time to transfer them to your growing medium with no nutrients at this point.
Step 5: Transplant Your Seedlings
When your seedlings have developed their first few sets of leaves, it's time to transplant them into larger containers filled with nutrient-rich soil, Gaia Green nutrients can take you from start to finish. Be sure to water your seedlings with a soft stream of water and avoid getting water on the leaves.
Step 6: Vegetative Stage
During the vegetative stage, your plants will grow rapidly and require plenty of light and nutrients. Be sure to adjust your grow light as your plants grow to ensure they are getting the right amount of light. Water your plants as needed and monitor the temperature and humidity levels, my targets are 25C and 45% humidity.
Step 7: Flowering Stage
When your plants reach the flowering stage, they will require a different nutrient ratio If using Gaia green go from the 4-4-4- All purpose to the 2-8-4 Power Bloom and a 12-hour light cycle if you decided to go with photoperiod plants if you chose autoflowers they will start this process without a light change and your first signs will be little white hairs known as pistils. Continue to monitor the temperature and humidity levels, and avoid disturbing your plants during the dark period especially if your growing photoperiod. Be patient, as the flowering stage can take several weeks to complete.
Step 8: Harvest Your Plants
When your plants are ready for harvest, the leaves and buds will have a strong aroma, and the trichomes will be milky or amber in color. Cut your plants at the base and hang them upside down in a cool, dark, and dry place to dry for a week or two. Once your buds are dry, trim them and store them in an airtight container.
That's it! Hopefully with these steps, you should have a healthy crop of organic cannabis with minimal issues to overcome.. Remember to do your research, be patient.
Happy growing!
